Biography

am a NC- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Supervisor (LCMHCS - S9544), SC- licensed professional counselor (LPC-7969) Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC-301113) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT- T3035). I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, with a graduate certificate in play therapy from the University of NC-Charlotte and also completed a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from the University of NC-Greensboro.

Over the years, I have had many professional experiences and worked as a mental health therapist in various settings and with ages 1-91 years old. In addition to my work as a counselor I have been a mediator, peace worker, teacher, artist, and youth mentor both here and abroad. All this work even my jobs as a young teen were in an effort to help others in need.

Through my experiences I have learned, both personally and professionally, just how important it is to find the right help at the right time. By synthesizing my counseling and conflict resolution training I will utilize different modalities and theoretical approaches. I have a unique ability to individualize a unique approach for each client in order to best help them.

Outside of the therapy room I enjoy Adventure like skydiving and scuba diving. I also enjoy being in nature and working on community garden projects to save the earth! I love to learn new things and will always be a student of life ...and I still might go back to school again for my PhD .... and I will push myself to learn as much as I can in this short life.

Although I spent so much time traveling the world and studying at the University and focused clinically there was always a thread of creativity and art and everything I did! And for 20 years I’ve been an artist. Untrained outside the box with no form or structure I do art through my emotion and it is my therapy! Very private but I want to share it with the world now. Always a thread of environmentalism and trauma in all of my work!

A lot of what I do is oil paints on glass pressed imprinted and then sketched with tools. I also do a lot of building out my own canvases and soaking them in organic materials. Such as the dead sea salt crystals. I’m currently working on a project that’s called growing my roots and it’s a combination of oil on glass imprinted with seeds that are now growing with roots pushing through the oil paints! I feel the moment and I create without any structure! I just wanna share my heart with the world!
