Type of Work: Painting
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Emily Beach-Munday attended California University of Pennsylvania, receiving her BS in Art Education. She has been a resident of NC since 2003 and lives in Winston-Salem with her husband and three Boston Terriers. Emily enjoys hiking, traveling, urban exploring, going to the beach, and of course creating art of all types.
“I have been an artist since I can remember. When I was a kid, I would always ask for art supplies for Christmas and birthdays. I would always be deeply involved in an art project or inventing new contraptions. I was always surrounded by many animals from cats and dogs to goats, horses, chickens and much more. I also spent a lot of time helping my parents in the garden and summers at the beach in NC. Those childhood experiences have carried into my artwork today.”
Today, Emily is active in exhibiting art nationally and locally. One of her pieces was displayed at the Cameron Art Museum’s exhibit Art of the State in Wilmington, NC. She teaches art, is National Board Certified, and is a member of the North Carolina Art Educators Association. She participates in Art for Art’s Sake Sunday Series, and is a member of the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem.
