Type of Work: Acrylic Painting
Marilyn Burke is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania. She studied drawing, painting, color theory and design
at Villa Maria Academy. Mercyhurst University and The Art School.
Notable instructors include: Andrew Sanders, Joseph Plavcan, Carl Sundberg, Dixie Browning, Barbara Nechis and Ed Lambert.
Her work has been accepted in numerous local and area juried competitions, has received many awards and is in private and corporate collections.
I enjoy painting floral and organic shapes.
Working freely, I manipulate line and form to create a cohesive design.
By adding a stroke of paint, or sweeping a graphite pencil, I accept the challenge to proceed and apply the colors that surround me to interpret the sensations of life.
