Born in Morehead City in 1992, Hayden Sharpe began her love affair with art on the walls of her bedroom at the age of two. Since then her parents encouraged her to embrace the less-destructive confines of finger-painting paper. As an adult she has returned to large-scale (even wall-sized) watercolor and acrylic works consisting of romantic, fantastical, and sometimes bizarre imagery.
Sharpe's inspirations include a wide ranging palette of artists such as James Jean, David Christiana, John William Waterhouse, and Oliver Hibert. Her current work employs a combination of different western cultural symbols to create a meaning that is unique to each viewer.
