I've been drawing and painting since I was five. I was born in Arlington, Virginia, into a family of artists, and grew up in Connecticut. In 1977, I received my B.A. in English Literature and Studio Art from Kenyon College, and found work as a production editor in the magazine publishing industry. It wasn't until 1990 that I returned to the studio full-time to begin painting and exhibiting watercolors of floral and still-life subjects at shows and galleries in Connecticut.
From 1990 to 1995, I was privileged to study classical figure drawing with Jack Henderson (a student of Robert Beverly Hale) at the Art Students League in New York City.
From 2000 to 2007, I followed my husband to Europe and lived in Luxembourg City and Paris, studying French at the Sorbonne and master artworks at the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Guimet, and many other European museums.
In 2007, I moved to North Carolina to homestead, and began teaching English as a Second Language at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
