Biography

A self-taught stained and fused glass hobbyist, retirement from teaching high school in 2015 has allowed me to create glass art for exhibit and sale at local craft and art shows. I ventured into the world of fused glass in 2015 after a gift of a glass kiln by a friend. I recently received Second Place at the Delphi Glass On-Line Glass Art Contest and 2nd Place at the Second Spring Arts Show held at the Milton Rhodes Art Center in Winston-Salem. A year into working with fused glass, I realized my greatest gratification came from pieces whose designs were rooted in nature. Glass itself is a beautiful expression of one of the cycles that flow between man and nature …. Earth to glass to earth. Designs in glass that represent closeness to its own origin have afforded me a personal means of experiencing the harmony between man and nature. My design with glass is grounded in nature whose inspiration is universal, perpetual, and transformational.
