Owens Daniels a freelance photographer and the face behind Owens Daniels Photography is a North Carolina photographer who has served the greater Piedmont Triad area for several years with photographic services specializing in lifestyle portraiture, special events, street art and food photography, with this motto: You Are The Art Of What I Do.

His photographic career started at the U.S Army Photographic School of Cartography, learning the basics of photography and photo printing. In addition to his formal training, Owens Daniels worked for over five years as a portrait photographer for Olan Mills and Lifetouch Portraits, photographing families, couples, and individuals in various on-site stdio locations, all of which earned him the position as one of the company’s top professional portrait photographers.

From these experiences, he extended his photographic career by learning the art of street photography and storytelling. As a self-taught photojournalist, Owens Daniels landed a two year position as a lead photographer for Charlotte NC’s The Star of Zion newspaper, one of the oldest black owned and printed publications in America. His signature photojournalist style continues to open doors for him from studio to gallery works and exhibitions.

Currently, Owens Daniels is working as a gallery exhibitionist, fine arts and freelance photographer he has worked with the Winston Salem Chronicle on assignments, event photographer for the University Of North Carolina School Of The Arts, photography instructor for the Sawtooth School Of Visual Arts, Winston Salem, NC and an innovative concert photographer for various entertainment artists and venues.

A proud member of Winston Salem’s Associated Artists, Owens Daniels’ work has been featured in various galleries in the Triad area; Sawtooth School of Visual Arts, Milton Rhodes Center of Arts, Delta Arts Center, The Keener Gallery at the Allegacy Corporation Center, Davidson Community College, and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as well as out of state Mason fine arts gallery in Atlanta GA.

As a world traveler, retired military veteran, graduate of Virginia State University and Central Texas College, this Richmond, Virginia native now deems himself a “hybrid North Carolinian photographer” and enjoys calling Winston Salem, NC home.
