Barbara moved to Winston Salem from the Boston area about six years ago. She has been an artist, a gallery curator, an arts writer and editor, art specialist, syndicated columnist, college teacher and art historian. She is also an award winning poet and essayist and is on the Board of Winston Salem Writers. She currently writes a bi-monthly column for Renaissance magazine and has contributed hundreds of freelance, art-related articles to regional, national and international publications. She is a member of the Woman Painters of the South East, Printmakers of North Carolina, Associated Artist of Winston Salem, Muddy River Art Association and the Woman's Caucus for the Arts. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows around the country.
