Type of Work: Oil Painting
Originally from Whippany, NJ, Diane Plaisted came to the south to attended Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. She studied art and pottery but majored in math, which started a career as a programmer analyst. With 3 wonderful children, husband, and a full time job, she painted large watercolors but only when time allowed which wasn't often. She studied watercolor with Gerald Brommer. In early 2013, she switched to oils and started studying weekly under Patty Bailey Sheets. She recently painted with Dreama Tolle Perry in France and is currently doing Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.
“Painting takes me to a surreal place of joy and happiness. Occasionally you find that zone where time passes unnoticed and you are painting without thinking about it. I love creating, whether it is painting oils, watercolor, pottery, jewelry making. It's a love of learning where there are no bounds.”
