Biography

A hobby woodworker for thirty years, Julie has designed and built outdoor furniture, tables, beds, chests, cabinets, chandeliers, and a Craftsman sofa. She began turning wood a few years ago, adding bowls, vases, lamps, and other turned items to her collection of work. She also crafts unique pieces showcasing the natural beauty of the grain. After recently acquiring a dog who is a sloppy drinker, she began combining wood and tile to create attractive drippy dog water bowl holders to spare hardwood floors.

A native of South Carolina, Julie has lived in Winston-Salem for fifteen years, and her most recent "day job" was as general counsel at the UNC School of the Arts.
