Biography
My paintings are inspired by a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Although I grew up in Virginia Beach -- where my earliest memories are defined by the smell of salt air and the feel of sand between my toes -- I have called North Carolina home since 2015. Today, my sweetest days are spent exploring with my husband in our little vintage "Scotty" travel trailer. A short weekend trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains or the Outer Banks are two of our favorite destinations, and I always come home with lots of photos to inspire my next paintings.
I am a quiet observer. My goal is to look at a scene -- whether a vast coastline or a small, eye-level moment -- as though I am invisible. By staying out of the way, I let the subject's natural rhythm speak for itself.
Working mostly in acrylic, I build each piece through layered color and softened edges to create impressionist landscapes that feel unforced. I am drawn to the simple, beautiful imperfection of the world around me. My work is an invitation to the viewer to pause, listen and feel wonderfully grounded in the fleeting moments that make North Carolina home.
