Biography

Hi, I'm Fay Savage - a painter, mixed media and collage artist whose abstract, contemporary, and expressionist works delve into the complexities of emotion, memory, and the natural world. My creative journey has been profoundly shaped by a traumatic brain injury at age 20, which heightened my already sensitive nature and influenced my unique approach to art. This experience, along with my deep emotional resonance with the world around me, informs every piece I create, with an exploration of texture, color, and form that conveys both personal and universal stories.

My paintings often display extremely subtle details and textures that can only be witnessed up close and in person. They draw you in and offer a peek into my inner world, and the landscape of human emotions we all share.

Although I graduated from Wake Forest University, I only just moved back to North Carolina after living, studying, and working in New York, and then Portland, Oregon for over 15 years. I'm really enjoying rediscovering Winston-Salem, and I'm always happy to connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts in the community.
