Michael R. Sharp was born in Southern Arkansas and began his love affair with wood in Potlatch’s pine forests while visiting his grandparents as a young boy.  As a military brat, Navy man and civilian ex-patriot he has lived at least three years each in Germany, Italy and Japan besides traveling to 59 other countries.  Currently residing in Lewisville, North Carolina near Winston-Salem, with his wife of 28 years, Joyce, who is a high school science teacher, they have two daughters.  Nicole pursues her PhD in aerospace engineering in College Station, Texas at Texas A & M and Kelley is a history major at the University of North Carolina- Asheville.

From the 2X4 furniture he built for his young children including bunk and loft beds, bureau drawers, desk, bookshelves, to the finer mission style cabinets, and built in bookcases for his basement, pride in craftsmanship united with need drove those projects to completion.  Mike loves wood and enjoys the stress reduction he experiences while planning, cutting and finishing these labors.  Although he has worked nearly thirty years in the retail arena for four of the largest companies in the world both nationally and internationally and is known for his expertise in supply chain management; he always returns to woodworking.  RazorSharp Woodworking LLC is his hopeful answer to the current economic downturn that has driven record unemployment in America
